Yann Lazarrec seems to be a normal man.
Lazarrec is a pharmacist who cares about the environment, soothes mankind with his potions and fights to protect the earth against the polluters who abuse it. Lazarrec is full of good intentions but, as one knows, the road to hell is paved with gold and it is precisely there, in hell, that the pharmacist spends most of his time because he has gone insane.
In the shadow of his laboratory, he creates poisons to kill the polluters. The eco-warrior, the devoted pharmacist has secretly become a serial killer. And the irony of it all is that François Barrier, the cop in charge of the case, is also an environmentalist. The difference is that he goes about it in a more casual way. Protests and demonstrations, that sort of things.
It's during a conference on the safekeeping of the planet that the two men meet and hit it off immediately. Lazarrec and François find themselves fraternising because they fight the same crusade.What they don't know yet is that they are bound to become brotherly enemies.
Their strange friendship will get stronger during an investigation that is going to bring them dangerously closer and closer together. François, completely under the spell, has absolutely no idea that Lazarrec is the monster he is tracking down and he will have to go and fetch the killer in his farm in Brittany, a farm that the pharmacist intended to turn into a sanctuary dedicated to the preservation of nature.
It is in this idyllic setting that the brotherly enemies will meet for the final confrontation.

Yann Lazarrec est apparemment un homme paisible.
Pharmacien et écolo, il soulage l'humanité au quotidien avec ses potions et se bat pour la protéger à long terme contre les pollueurs qui la ravagent. Lazarrec n'a donc que de bonnes intentions, mais on sait que l'enfer en est pavé, et c'est justement en enfer que le pharmacien passe le plus clair de son temps parce qu'il est tout simplement devenu fou. Derrière la façade de son laboratoire, il fabrique en secret des poisons pour assassiner les pollueurs. L'écolo rêveur, le pharmacien dévoué est devenu à l'insu de tous, un tueur en série.
Et l'ironie du sort veut que François Barrier, le flic chargé de l'enquête, soit écolo lui aussi. Mais dans le registre normal, lui. Le style protestations et manifestations pacifiques.
C'est à l'occasion d'une conférence sur la protection de l'environnement que les deux hommes font connaissance et sympathisent immédiatement.
Lazarrec et François se retrouvent ensemble dans la fraternité des causes communes.
Ils ne savent pas encore qu'ils vont devenir des frères ennemis…

Sans le vouloir les deux hommes se rapprochent dangereusement entretenant un relation ambigüe entre la répulsion et la fascination ou peut-être même plus qui sait ?

Set in 1865, during the waning days of the Tokugawa shogunate, the movie focuses on an exotic young male beauty, Kano (Ryuhei Matsuda), who has recently been recruited by the strict Shinsengumi samurai militia.He quickly becomes the lover of another recruit, Hyozo Tashiro (Tadanobu Asano), and, although homosexuality is officially verboten, Commander Kondo (Yoichi Sai) seems to have adopted a don't-ask-don't-tell policy. He has little choice, since the teenage wraith soon becomes the prime object of desire for half the militia. Jealousy threatens to erode the company's morale, as the samurai engage in kendo swordplay for a shard of attention from the impassive Kano. Captain Hijikata (Takeshi Kitano), the most humane and aware of the samurai, struggles to maintain discipline while fighting against his own attraction to the youth. TABOO is a fascinatingly ambiguous exploration of the uncontrollable force of sexuality in a highly repressive military environment.

Au temple Nishi-Honganji, la milice du Shinsengumi sélectionne de nouvelles recrues en présence du commandant Isami Kondo (Yoichi Sai) et du capitaine Toshizo Hijikata (Beat Takeshi).
Les candidats doivent affronter le meilleur guerrier de la milice, Soji Okita (Shinka Takeda).
Ce jours là, deux hommes se détachent du lot et intègrent la milice : Hyozo Tashiro (Tadanobu Asano), samurai de rang inférieur originaire du clan Kurume, et Sozaburo Kano (Ryuhei Matsude), jeune homme dont la beauté envoûtante attire tous les regards. Tashiro s'éprend immédiatement de Kano.
La fascination exercée par le jeune samuraï sème une confusion : la milice, régie par des règles très strictes et généralement unie face à l'adversité, se trouve soudain en proie aux rumeurs et aux jalousies.
L'ambiance de ce film est dérangeante et l'acteur principal vraiment inquiétant. C'est un bon film mais moins bon que le très célèbre Empire des sens du même réalisateur.

The show evolves around 2 young and good-looking men Jet and especially Sam.  Jet is a male prostitute who seeks his true love.  Sam is a policeman who has fallen out of love with KS (a singer) and Ah Ching (his ex-colleague).  Coincidentally, Ah Ching and Jet are room-mates plying the same trade at SM Bay (a male brothel).  5 years ago, Ah Ching seduced an innocent Fai (before he was known as Sam) when he was 18 and soon after Fai met the worldly and sophiscated 18-year old singer KS.  Fai left KS when KS became famous after Leslie Cheung's agent managed him.  But not before Fai prostitute himself to a photographer for modelling and other services to raise money to pay KS' debts for extravagent living.

HAPPY TOGETHER chronicles the stormy affair of a gay couple (Hong Kong superstars Tony Leung and Leslie Cheung) living as expatriates in Buenos Aires. The two possess very divergent ways of dealing with the world; Lai is more responsible, holding down a job at a tango club, while Ho turns tricks for a living. Inevitably, they grow apart painfully, but when Lai finds Ho beaten severely by a bad trick, the pair set about making another try. Stunning camera work by cinematographer Christopher Doyle.

NB : Wong Kar-Wai received the Best Director award at Cannes in 1997 for this movie !

Un film yaoi sérieux, l'histoire d'amour à Buenos Aires de deux hommes aux styles de vie divergents, Lai responsable et sérieux et Ho un peu bohème. Ce film n'a absolument pas le ton léger de Formula 17, il pousse à la réflexion sur l'amour, l'homosexualité...
 
NB : Wong Kar-Wai a reçu à Cannes en 1997 pour Happy together le prix du meilleur metteur en scène.

Total eclipse or Rimbaud Verlaine by Agnieszka Holland (1997)   With Leonardo di Caprio ^_~   The love story which occured in Paris in 1850 between the two french poets Rimbaud, young and salvage new author and Verlaine, a middle age and married writer.    Some scenes are funny ^^ especially when Rimbaud pees on some old people during a dinner XD !     Eclipse totale ou Rimbaud Verlaine   Les amours passionnés et orageuses des deux poètes français Rimbaud et Verlaine, avec dans le rôle du jeune auteur révolté un Leonardo di Caprio plus vrai que nature. J'adore ce film, le jeu des comédiens est excellent. Voir Di Caprio debout sur une table uriner sur les nantis, quelle délectation !!! A voir absolument !   P.S. Le uke n'est pas forcément celui qu'on croit ^_~
